Countertops get constant abuse. Between food crumbs, junk mail, dirty dishes, and other irritating objects, your countertops get gross. If neglected for long enough they can get a layer of filth that can be hard to remove. Now that some gross stuff. I’ve used different cleaning sprays over time and they all leave a strong chemical smell behind. I went looking for a natural DIY countertop spray and I’m going to share exactly what I use.

Cleaning products can contain many harmful chemicals. These can be harmful to humans and animals. Many of these products can be replicated with safe chemicals, although the more harmful toxic chemicals are commonly more effective. Some harmful chemicals to look out for are…

  • Sodium Hydroxide 

Many consumers are turning to DIY cleaners so that they can control what they are using around their family. These DIY cleaners can be made with few supplies. I going to fill you in on a great DIY countertop spray that works on a variety of surfaces.

Instructions

1. Pour 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar into 10 oz. of warm water.

2.  Add five drops of each essential oil. You can use any essential oil that you like. I recommend trying different ones. 

3. Pour the solution into any spray bottle.

4. Shake the spray bottle before use. Sometimes oils float to the surface.

5. I always label my bottles so I know exactly what’s in them.
